Inspiration for Star Children

In October 2019  Katherine Hitchcock was hiking with the Sierra Club in the ancient cliff dwellings in Northwest New Mexico. While her fellow hikers climbed to the higher levels, Katherine remained below and walked alone along the narrow trail.

Looking out across the vast landscape, she suddenly had a glimpse of something coming toward us from the future. During the first six months of 2020 she worked to comprehend and express this in an artistic form. She submitted this to the Brooklyn Sketchbook Library (now closed) with the title A Thread from the Future.

Now redrawn and titled Star Children, Katherine hopes to reach a larger audience where the booklet can be used in workshops to explore avenues for conflict resolution and peaceful outcomes. She would love for people to create their own version of the booklet including ideas and drawings from their unique culture, background and experience.
